How to set-up a social enterprise

Social enterprise is a way of ‘doing business better’ by creating a business idea that earns enough income to cover the costs of running the organisation so surplus cash can be reinvested into doing more projects for social good.

Our three-day course, ‘How to set-up a social enterprise’ covers the fundamentals of running a successful social enterprise from identifying who will buy your products and services, to defining how your activities will benefit others.

Any social enterprise registered in the past three years is eligible for a further twelve hours of 1-1 business development coaching.

How to set-up a business

Our fully-funded three-day course covers the essential knowledge for setting up in business: providing insights on why some businesses fail, while others succeed; practical tips such as how to do market research at low cost as well as covering the important stuff like cashflow management, managing risk and the legal obligations on business owners.

Seven steps to growing your business

If you’re looking to grow your business, you need a framework that will help you grow over the long-term because continuous improvement is just that – there are no quick fixes.

This free online workshop will look at ideas that you can adopt as a small business to develop a more sustainable market, attract and retain customers (and staff) and enhance your reputation as a local business.

Our ‘Seven steps’ course is an introduction to the type of fully-funded 1-1 coaching and support that is available through The Engine Room.
