Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (CN4C) is a charity and a social enterprise which aims to transform the quality of life for people, places and communities.

We have been around since 2001 and are focused on affecting change that will help people have better lives, become better off and help people make better sense of the world around them, including navigating and making change to the systems that do not work for many people in Cornwall.

We are currently looking for a Finance Officer to join us on a part-time basis, working 15 hours per week. This is a 12 month contract that has the potential to extend (subject to funding).

The Role

As a Finance Officer, you will be tasked with providing financial and accounting support to our organisation.

Working closely with our Finance Co-ordinator and Claims and Finance Administrator, you will work with Xero to input, reconcile and monitor accounting information, including purchase and sales invoices.

Your role will also include:

- Monitoring debtors and creditors
- Carrying out bank and petty cash reconciliations
- Supporting the Claims Team with appropriate accounting information
- Completing payroll work
- Supporting the preparation of management accounts and cash flow reports
- Assisting with the annual audit and end of year accounts process

About You

To join us as a Finance Officer, you will need:

- At least two years’ experience of working in a finance environment
- At a minimum, one year’s experience of inputting financial information into an accounting package
- The ability to input data quickly and precisely
- Strong MS Excel skills (ideally to advanced level)
- Good written and verbal communication skills

Experience of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector would be beneficial, as would experience of Xero. An AAT qualification would also be an advantage, as would knowledge of UK and European funding regimes and an awareness of sustainable business practices.

Other organisations may call this role Accounts Technician, Finance Technician, Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Finance Administrator, Junior Accountant, or Accounts Junior.
