Getting Connected Online

Course dates: 4 October*-13 December
Days and times: Mondays 1pm-3pm
Location: St Austell Community Bank

Would you like to learn more about computers and the internet? Or find out about social media and how to call people for free over WiFi?

Getting Connected online will explore the many free applications available to help you stay in touch with family and friends such as WhatsApp and Facebook as well as manage your daily life using tools such as email, chatbots and internet search. During this ten-week course, you will also cover how to stay safe online and be confident about your personal digital security.

We encourage you to bring your laptop, smart phone or tablet to these sessions so you can get connected right away.

By the end of this course you should be able to… be social media savvy; avoid scams and other harmful things like computer viruses and malware; use your phone for free and what to do if you find something not right and where to report it.

*There will be a break for half-term in the week of 25 October
