St Austell group ‘St Austell Revival Together (START)’ have just obtained charity status as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) thanks to help from the Engine Room project at Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change. As result they have been successful at getting help for ‘soon to be mums’ in getting clothes and supplies for their new babies.

START put a call out on Facebook after being approached by a midwife and a social worker both of whom were concerned about how some of their soon to be mums would cope without the money to buy clothes, bedding and nappies. The charity got a fantastic response thanks to the generosity of local people and the help of Tesco Community Champion, who also put a call out on the charity’s behalf.

The charities Chair, Sharon Sisson, said ‘thanks to peoples’ generosity, we are now able to help many more new families over the coming weeks, which is great news!  We also have clothes for for adults, children and babies plus bedding and towels.

If you need any help the you can contact START via Facebook. Similarly, if you have things that you want to donate to help others please get in touch with START on Facebook.
