How to Set-up a Business

Course dates: 6, 13, 20 October / 3, 10, 17 November / 1, 8, 15 December
Day and time: Wednesdays 9.30am-3pm
Location: online

Our three-day course covers the essential knowledge for setting up in business: providing insights on why some businesses fail, while others succeed; practical tips such as how to do market research at low cost as well as covering the important stuff like managing risk and the legal obligations on business owners.

We specialise in working with people who have never had a business before, so we don’t use lots ‘business’ jargon – preferring to explain the key concepts in basic terms and everyday language, to help your business get off to a flying start.

By the end of this course you should be able to... write your business plan and register as a limited company.

What can I study next? Any business registered in the past three years is eligible for a further twelve hours of support in the form of a business ‘health-check’. Please contact Neil Colquhoun, Start up and Social Enterprise Manager for details.
