Our Story: Creating a Connected Christmas

 

Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (CN4C) is a charity based in Redruth and St Austell.

 

We work year-round to help people feel more connected, raise their aspirations, and manage financial hardship through education, community activities, and one-to-one support.

 

At Christmas, these challenges are often amplified. Many families face hidden poverty, homes go cold due to fuel poverty, and food banks see demand surge.

 

For some, CN4C is the only source of support and company during the festive season.

 

Our team of staff, volunteers, and SEND post-16 learners come together to create spaces where people can share meals, friendship, and festive joy.

 

Beyond food, we offer warmth, dignity, and a sense of belonging — moments that can make a lasting difference.

What We’re Doing This Christmas

​

With the funds raised through the Aviva Community Fund, we will:

​

• Host Christmas parties at our hubs in Redruth and St Austell, offering festive food, fun, and activities for families and individuals

• Provide Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day lunches at The Elms in Redruth and a Brunch at The One and All Bank in St Austell, so people can enjoy company and a hot meal

• Deliver hampers of everyday food essentials to families and individuals facing financial hardship, helping them enjoy a festive season without the stress of choosing between heating or eating

Every event and hamper is designed to bring the community together, build connections, and ensure that people feel valued and supported.
